Yes, I’m still doing this ministry. I’ve been hesitant to send newsletters because I don’t want to bother people. We get inundated with emails, and I don’t want to be like one of those annoying groups who constantly flood my in-box with opportunities to buy their goods. But, of course, this is different because it’s me, and I’m not selling… Read more »
People ask me why we went to Vegas for the Gentlemen’s Club EXPO in August. I look at them blankly and think to myself “why wouldn’t we?” They continue by reminding me I’m based in Houston. Why go to Vegas? Why go to this event? Good questions which caused me to pause and think. Honestly, it made me second guess… Read more »
I started not to go to the clubs Tuesday night. I didn’t have a good excuse not to go. I was lazy and indifferent – which is odd because I had been praying about this night for several days. I decided being lazy wasn’t a good enough reason not to go. Plus, Veronica was there and ready to go. So… Read more »
Last night we took Easter buckets containing candy and a neon/glittery Easter egg (with a rolled-up scripture verse inside) to the clubs. Not all Easter eggs contained the same verse. At the first club, we were getting ready to pray for a dancer who had just come off stage when a waitress came in and wanted to join the prayer. We… Read more »
We walked in to the dressing room of the last club of the night. I saw a girl sitting off to the side by herself. She looked at us expectantly and also confused. Pray she has the strength & determination to finish. Samantha asked prayer for her stepmother (Wanda) who has cancer Prayer… Read more »
Even though I haven’t posted in a while due to website issues, we’ve never stopped going to the clubs. God continues to astound me with encouraging words from the girls like “you make our night”, “thank you for coming. you’ll never know how much it means to us.” The one statement that stopped me in my tracks & brought tears… Read more »
We’ve had a lot of good conversations in the clubs these past few months. At least two girls have found “real” jobs (as they put it). We are so proud of them! Below are highlights and prayer requests from the past several weeks: Cash gave a homeless woman a gift bag. The woman was rather gruff with Cash. She… Read more »
Sometimes we see things we don’t want to see. With the “Three Foot Rule” going away, there’s a whole lot more up close and personal interactions on stage and in the chairs. It brings home the reality of this industry. Almost every girl has told us they want a job doing something else. We pray for God to open doors… Read more »
We continue taking gift bags in the strip clubs and giving them to the girls, bartenders, owners, managers and patrons. Each gift bag contains a gift, an encouraging scripture, an invitation to church and chocolate candy. August’s gift was a small, magnetic white board they can put in their locker or give to their kid for school. In September, we… Read more »
